Time: 12:30 - 17:00 (Thursday) and 09:00 - 12:00 (Saturday)

 

Registration for Full School delegates will take place in the reception area of the Bristol Grand by Sunday and will be available between the hours of 12.30 and 17:00 on Thursday, 10 June. Thursday tours will also depart from here.
 

Day School delegates, arriving on Friday 11 June, will be able to register in the Annual Day School Venue, Bristol Beacon, as detailed below.

Welcome Reception

SS Great Britain, Bristol Dockyards

Join us aboard the SS Great Britain for an evening of celebration as we welcome delegates for the start of this year’s Annual School in Bristol & Bath.

​

The SS Great Britain, a revolutionary ocean liner designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and first launched in 1843, now enjoys an enviable position overlooking Bristol Harbour as part of Bristol Dockyards site and Museum. 

​

The evening will offer delegates excellent networking alongside the opportunity to explore the SS Great Britain over the course of the evening. A welcome drink will also be served on arrival, followed by a light meal.

Annual Day School

Lantern Hall, Bristol Beacon

Location:  Beacon, Trenchard St, Bristol BS1 5AR

Date: Friday, 11 June

​

Time: 08:30 - 18:00

 

This year’s Annual Day School will take place in the historic Lantern Hall, part of Bristol Beacon; a renowned concert hall and award-winning music and education hub.

​

Ideally located just a short 5 minute walk from this year's School hotel, and easily accessible from Bristol Temple Meads train station and Bristol's Park & Ride sites, it serves as an inspiring setting in which to explore this year’s theme of Climate Change & Significance.

​

Delegates will also get to visit the Exhibitors Hub during the day, with adequate time for networking and opportunities for even more CPD as part of the programme. Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.

Annual Dinner 
& Awards

Time: 19:15 - 23:00

 

This year’s Annual Dinner and Awards presentations will take place in the Palm Court at the historic Grade II listed Marriott Bristol Royal Hotel. Conveniently located just a 2-5 minute walk from this year's Day School Venue and School hotel, the Palm Court provides a truly stunning setting in which to come together and celebrate the end of this year’s Annual School over a delicious 3-course dinner.

​

The evening will also include presentations for this year’s Gus Astley Student Award, Marsh Award and IHBC-SAHGB Award winners.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

 

For those booking the Residential Full School package, accommodation will be provided at the Bristol Grand Hotel by Sunday, which is located centrally along Broad Street, just a few minutes walk from the Day School Venue and Annual Dinner & Awards location, making it a covenient base for this year's School.

​

Registration will also take place on the Thursday and Saturday for the CPD Study Tours in the hotel reception.

​

​

The combination of speakers, tours and opportunity to chat with delegates and exhibitors is remarkable.

Wonderful content, camaraderie and networking. I learned so much. It was well worth the time and expense.

Bristol has several Park & Ride sites as well as car parks. Please note there is a Clean Air Zone in operation in Bristol.

Bristol Temple Meads rail station is well served by direct services from across the UK, and it's a mostly level walk, taxi or bus ride from there to the city centre and conference venues.

By Air

Bristol Airport is the nearest, around 8 miles south-west of the city. The Airport Flyer bus runs frequently between the airport and Temple Meads/city centre.
